Animated Documentary Film: Karamoja Faces 2008/09

This year I am compiling a series of art work to create an Animated Film of the Karamojong women who come to the city to beg with children.

Last year I was researching the plight of the Karamojong both in the capital of Uganda 'Kampala' and in the arid conflict stricken Karamojaland. It is a tragic story of tribal warfare in a forgotten corner of Africa.

Matriarchal Project. 2005 to 2008

This is a project to highlight the last societies on the planet that have naturally placed women as equals or even leaders, without them having to fight for their rights.
- Will these societies be able to survive the onslaught of modernization?

Slovakian Gypsies. 2006 & 2008

In May 2008 I made a return trip to the Slovak Gypsy Villages, to see how things had changed.
On my first visit in 2006 I found settlements with no electricity, running water or sanitation.

This year I returned to Prague, drawn back by the power of the Panelák flats. From winter through to summer in 2006, I was capturing scenes of everyday life around these minimalist blocks of flats.
